I am an international creative developer— my past projects are vast and multidisciplinary, including work in both government, private, individual, group and corporate initiatives, all largely oriented around the power of voice and expression. My educational background is in music composition (Masters Music Production/Holistic Performance, Berklee College of Music), though I credit the most of my "real" education to years performing, recording and artistically innovating, in decades spent both in the USA and Europe.
My clinical work with the voice has been ongoing for over 20 years. I developed a somatic method of performative and therapeutic voice work, which I've shared with thousands of people—coaching individuals and groups worldwide. I have brought this work into laboratory settings within the science and tech community, and am currently focused on prototyping a (patented) voice-centered innovation.
I'm an instrumentalist with over 35 years of (primarily guitar-based) playing experience. I began my own creative journey fixated on the art of crafting song, starting at age 4, a passion fortified by illustrating and writing. In conjunct, I've written full-length books (both my own and as a ghostwriter), composed over 1000 songs, recorded multiple records of my own (two on Barcelona's Whatabout Music label) and contributed to many recording and performing collaborations. I've performed in over 300 venues worldwide, including taking the stage at Primavera Sound, Palau De La Musica (Barcelona), Fox Theater (Boulder, CO), Yoshi's Jazz Club (San Fran, CA), and the Lino Ventura Theater (Nice, France).
In 2008-2018, I served positions as the resident musical composer of Bermuda and Denmark, funded by government art councils to produce art and music. I've performed the work of Billie Holiday and heirloom Americana Jazz on three continents—performing thousands of concerts in this capacity. I hold the experience of sharing the common language of "sound" and "art" with others cross-globally as a most-precious, essential core of my work.
I teach/coach at conservatories and independently (virtually and in-person) from my home studio in Manhattan and on-location around the world. I offer Voice Architecture sessions, a therapeutic, performative sound immersion in acoustically-resonant rooms, where the "audience" lies supine, in the dark, focusing on their breath. As a Creative Curator, I brand, ghostwrite, illustrate, revamp projects, consult, coach, publicly speak, strategize operations, support creative, physiological health and provide sound therapy. I exhibit artwork in select galleries, or else by individual commission. And mostly, I hold true to the Greek origin of the word "poem"--poeisis, which means "to do" or "to make", thus my real title is, simply, "poet".
